For Reunion star Alexa Davalos, acting -- like beauty -- is in the genes. The daughter of actress Elyssa Davalos and the granddaughter of actor Richard Davalos, Alexa made her screen debut at the age of 3 when she appeared in John Frankenheimer's made-for-TV thriller, Riviera, which starred her mother.

The brunette stunner spent the ensuing years modeling and appearing in theatrical productions while also pursuing her love of ballet. By 2002, Alexa was ready for her breakout. She entered primetime that year with an appearance in FOX's quirky show Undeclared in addition to a recurring role as ass kicker Gwen Raiden in Angel.

Alexa Davalos used the sci-fi role and its ensuing fanfare as a springboard for starring alongside Vin Diesel and Thandie Newton in 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick. The Pitch Black sequel grossed over $115 million worldwide and made Alexa an instant star. While action (as well as her latex outfits) may have put her on the map, Alexa has also turned in nuanced, dramatic performances in such acclaimed fare as The Ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald and the made-for-TV movie Surrender, Dorothy, in which she played the daughter of Academy Award-winner Diane Keaton. Alexa Davalos  is an American actress. She has appeared in several Hollywood films, including Feast of Love, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Mist, Defiance, and Clash of the Titans.

After a quintessentially bohemian childhood that found her straddling New York, Paris, Italy and Los Angeles (with a photographer father and actress mom), Alexa Davalos headed to Manhattan. In the Big Apple, she instantly snagged lucrative assignments as a photographer's model for the likes of Davalos, an only child, was born Alexa Davalos Dunas in France to American parents, actress Elyssa Davalos and photographer Jeff Dunas. Her maternal grandfather is actor Richard Davalos. She is Jewish on her father's side; her paternal ancestors emigrated from Vilnius in Lithuania.

Davalos spent most of her childhood in France and Italy, before settling in New York. She has stated "I tend to curse in French more often than I do in English." She struck out on her own at seventeen and headed to New York City. She supported herself by modeling for photographers like Peter Lindbergh. "I had a mission," she recalls. "I wanted to be out in the world, doing my own thing. Working in a theater, I discovered that I really wanted to act." Her passion soon grew towards acting, and she attended the Off Broadway Flea Theater in New York.In 2002, Davalos co-starred with Charlie Hofheimer in the short film The Ghost of F. Scott Fitzgerald, which screened at the 2002 Toronto Film Festival. In September 2003, she was seen opposite Antonio Banderas in the HBO film And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself. Davalos made her feature film debut in 2004 starring in The Chronicles of Riddick as Kyra. How You Know Her: The little-known acting prodigy sauntered onto the set of The Chronicles of Riddick and the rest was history. Directors quickly signed Alexa on for a few TV roles (Reunion, Raines) which solidified her arrival into the entertainment business. A turn on the Oscar-nominated Defiance probably also clinched her the role of Andromeda in the upcoming mythological blockbuster Clash of the Titans, though the prospect of chaining a hottie to a large rock didn't hurt either.

Not Just a Pretty Preface: "I'm a big dork...I love to travel and I travel as often as I can...But I'm an avid reader, I guess you could say, I'm a bit of a bookworm.
