Our savvy photographer, Ashley Jahncke, has been snapping away at Resort 2011 shows, and getting the scoop from all the models.
In her work, Ashley caught model Dorothea Barth Jorgensen shooting and filming backstage and on the street. So she asked why, and found out that Dorothea has her own blog, Displaced Bones.
Dorothea’s blog tracks her travels as a model, from backstage, to parties, to hanging out with her model friends including Hanne Gaby and Valerija Kelava. We like her blog because it gives models, who are usually seen and not heard, a voice. It also gives us normal folk an insight into this crazy world. Swedish model Dorothea Barth Jorgensen gave a masterclass in carefree Summer dressing when she stepped out in this relaxed yet on-trend outfit perfect for warmer weather. Dressed in a t-shirt style print crop-top, floaty sheer maxi-skirt and topped off with a casual trilby, Dorothea's bohemian look is perfect for lounging in the sun. She completed her look with a silver pendant necklace, a pair of sunglasses and black flat sandals - all subtle yet luxurious finishing touches - check out how to get a similar look below!
Crop tops are not going anywhere this season and that’s a fact. This is a good thing considering that it’s the perfect companion for a maxi skirt. Not only does the length of the skirt prevent a bared midriff from being too risque, but the crop top keeps the maxi skirt from wandering over into Amish territory. Even better if said maxi skirt is sheer. When paired with the perfect Panama hat, the look is classy but still casual and sexy, not to mention lightweight enough to embrace the warmest monthsDorothea Barth Jorgensen, Katrin Thormann & Amanda Norgaard by by Kai Z Feng for Stockholm AW 2011. Revelers descended on the Palm Springs desert in droves for this year's Coachella Valley Music Festival. Decked out in the essentials—a pair of sunglasses, light and airy clothes, and concert-ready cross-body bags—the crowds enjoyed live music from Arcade Fire, Cults, The Strokes, and more, while also partaking in the many weekend after-parties, including Mulberry's barbecue bash and Phillip Lim's poolside party. As usual, the California sunshine led to fun and a fuss-free, bohemian style prevailed. From knit dresses to vintage T-shirts to studded sandals, above are the hits from Coachella.
I am too drained to write but this girl is le shiz. I am absolutely obsessed with all her work…she captures an awkward, sort of amazing aesthetic, and can adapt to even the most obscure-themed shoots. I am loving.
