Ariana Grande currently stars as Cat Valentine, on the hit Nickelodeon show VICTORIOUS. Most recently, she was signed to the Universal Republic Record label with a single and album in her very near future. Ariana has just completed her first voice-over work as an animated Fairy, Princess Diaspro, on the new Nickelodeon series, The Winx Club. She was also named as Klout.com’s 3rd most influential actress online.
Originating from the world of Broadway, Ariana made her debut in 2008 in the original role of Charlotte in 13 the musical, for which she won a National Youth Theatre Association Award in 2009. In 2010, she created the original role of Miriam in the reading of the new musical, Cuba Libre, written and produced by Desmond Child.
In her early years, she has been a soloist with various symphonies including South Florida’s Philharmonic, Pops and Symphonia Orchestras, and has had repeated appearances singing at NYC’s own Birdland. Ariana performed the National Anthem for the first LIVE ESPN broadcast of the Anthem for the Florida Panther’s hockey league. In the Summer of 2009, as a member of the charitable organization, Broadway in South Africa, Ariana performed and taught music and dance to children in Gugulethu, South Africa. Also, at the age of 10, Ariana co-founded the youth singing group, Kids Who Care, in South Florida, which performed for charitable fund-raising events, raising over $500,000 for charities in 2007 alone.
Ariana Grande grew up in Boca Raton, Florida, and was interested in theatre since she was a little girl. She performed at the Little Palm Theatre for Young People and Fort Lauderdale’s Children’s Theatre. In 2008 she decided to try Broadway, and was cast as Charlotte in the musical 13, the first Broadway production to have an all-teen cast. She starred with Liz Gilles, who went on to work with her on Victorious.
In 2009, Ariana was cast in the Nickelodean show Victorious. The show, which premiered in March 2010, is about a group of students attending a performing arts high school in California. Ariana plays the role of Cat Valentine, a close friend of the main character Tori. Her character is a drama queen that over-reacts about everything. Although her character may be high maintenance on the show, in real life Ariana is down-to-earth and friendly.
